How To Increase Your Gas Mileage/Reduce Gas Costs
- Reduce unnecessary stuff that you carry in your car. If you don't need or use it, then take it out of you car. The more weight you have to pull, the more gas you burn.
- Combine as many trips as possible. When you decide to go to the store, go ahead and do everything else that you can do while out there, post office, eat etc.
- Plan your trips. Eg like the courier services, avoid left turns on your routes if possible. Right turns save gas as you don't have to be stopped at traffic lights for long.
- If your car is older model, replace your air filter if dirty. New models do better air/fuel management.
- Car pool eventually if demand for gas drops, prices will drop (slightly).
- Drive more fuel efficient car. Avoid driving the SUV if you can drive the small car.
- You get better mileage if you drive highway as opposed to city stop and go driving.
- Watch your speed anything below 45 and above 55 MPH will burn more gas.
- Shop for cheaper gas in your area. Disparities between gas stations can make you spend more. You can save dollar amounts if you get the cheapest price.
- Plan for the future, find extra sources of income, prices of almost everything will go up due to the high gas prices. Shield your self from inflation by raising you income so you don't get in trouble. Start a small home based business etc.
